Udinese coach Stefano Colantuono is confident that despite a number injuries his side can claim a win against Palermo in their first ever game at the newly renovated Stadio Friuli.
The Zebrette’s stadium underwent a number of improvements last season as the club from Udine look to join the likes of Juventus with a modernised stadium.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Italian said his side wanted to reward their fans with a first win at the updated venue.
“When you open with a new stadium, you want to give a gift to your fans, with a good performance.
“We have some injuries, but I have every confidence in the players that will replace the injured ones. I have an excellent team, the unexpected can happen, but we must overcome these moments.”
Colantuono was keen to stress his side must avoid complacency following last weeks shock 1-0 victory over Juventus.
“After the victory against Juventus we must remain vigilant.
“Merkel may take the field tomorrow, also Marquinho may as well.
“[Bruno] Fernandes is doing well, he should continue because he has great potential.”
