Genoa defender Sebastian De Maio is attracting interest from a number of English Premier League outfits, according to the player’s agent.
The 28-year-old French-Italian defender has enjoyed an impressive two seasons at the Grifone, after plying most of his career at Brescia and the lower leagues of Italian football.
Diego Tavano, the player’s agent, told Tuttomercatoweb that his performances have attracted the attention of foreign clubs, but insisted the player’s only focus was on Genoa.
“We’re flattered by the interest of foreign clubs. Scouts have noticed his good qualities and his versatility,” Tavano said.
“[Premier League interest] Yes, there are English clubs interested. We’ll see how it goes from here until the end of the market, but Sebastian thinks only of Genoa.
“For now, until a top club arrives with an offer, we prefer to stay at Genoa. A team that we are satisfied with and with an ideal environment to show his talent.
“Is his valuation too high? His value is a reflection of his performances of the last two campaigns.
“[His dream] Getting into the Italian national team. If we don’t dream, we won’t realize it, in fact he is currently waiting for his Italian passport.”
