Empoli defender the latest to follow coach to Napoli

hys-NapoliNapoli have confirmed the signing of Empoli defender Elseid Hysaj with the Albanian becoming the second Azzurri player to make the move to the Stadio San Paolo this summer after Mirko Valdifiori.

Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri also joined from the Stadio Carlo Castellani and has moved to bring in another of his former players to add to his defensive options.

Napoli announced the signing of the 21-year-old on their official website and he made his first appearance in their friendly against Nice on Sunday, coming on as a second half substitute.

The Albania international made 36 appearances for Empoli in Serie A in the 2014-15 season following their promotion from Serie B.

Hysaj is the second defensive acquisition in a week for Sarri’s side and follows the arrival of Vlad Chiriches from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
