Alejandro Faurlin was pleased to face an experienced Atalanta side in Queens Park Rangers’ 1-1 friendly draw on Sunday.
The Orobici, backed by a vocal following in west London, performed well against the recently relegated side, taking the lead through Jasmin Kurtic’s excellent volley before Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ deflected equaliser.
“It was a great test, they are an experienced team and one where I know many of their players,” Faurlin told ForzaItalianFootball.com.
“They are a good side, so I’m very happy with the way our guys played and our team’s performance today.”
The former Palermo midfielder is returning from a nightmare few years that saw the Argentine injure his anterior cruciate ligament three times in three years, but he is fit and optimistic about the new Championship campaign.
“Pre-season is always hard and it was a good test, they are a Serie A team so they know what they’re doing but I think we played alright and we look good,” said Faurlin.
