borini liverpoolLiverpool forward Fabio Borini is one step away from signing for Fiorentina, according to reports in Italy.

The Italian striker has found it difficult to get regular game time at the Merseyside club, making only 18 appearances during the 2014-15 season in all competitions, most of which came from the bench.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the two parties have agreed on a fee of €7 million, with the only halt in the deal being the agreement between the 24-year-old attacker and the Viola.

The directors of Fiorentina have asked Borini to spread his current salary over a multi-year contract and are now awaiting the player’s response, who seems very interested in returning to Serie A.

Borini scored only once in his 18 appearances at Liverpool last term, but the season prior to that the forward netted 10 goals in his 40 appearances for Sunderland where he cemented himself a starting berth.
