New Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez has spoken of his ‘amazing’ club debut against Barcelona.
The Viola stunned La Liga champions Barcelona courtesy of a Federico Bernardeschi brace, a thrilling result which Suarez said amounts to a very memorable maiden fixture.
“Very happy with my debut in Stadio Artemio Franchi and victory!” the Spaniard tweeted.
“Thank you, it was amazing! #ForzaViola”
The 28-year-old brought the curtain down on his second Atletico Madrid spell by moving to Florence as part of the deal to take Stefan Savic the other way.
Since 2013, he is an international for the Spain national side, making three appearances in total.
Suarez won six club honours at Atletico Madrid, including the Europa League in 2012, a competition that Fiorentina are keen to impress in.
