Fiorentina have not given up on their pursuit of Manchester City defender Jason Denayer.

The Belgian looked to have agreed a deal with Galatasaray, however the player was unconvinced that a move to the Turkish capital was right for his career and is now open to a switch to Florence.

According to the newspaper QS-La Nazione, the Viola are set to launch a deadline day bid for the 20-year-old and are hopeful that the good relations they have enjoyed with Manchester City courtesy of recent deals between the two clubs can assist in clinching a deal before the transfer window slams shut on Monday night.

Denayer is struggling to make his way into the first-team at the Premier League side on the back of their recent acquisition of Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, but he would be open to a loan-deal in Italy as he still has hopes of featuring regularly for City in the future.

The Belgian spent last season on-loan at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic and has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe including Lyon and Marseille.
