Fiorentina star Joaquin has confirmed the player wants to return to Spanish side Real Betis.
Joaquin spent the first 12 years of his career at Betis and his agent Eduardo Espejo has revealed there are negotiations between the clubs although a deal is not close.
“It’s a difficult situation for Joaquin as he firmly wants to return to Real Betis,” Espejo told reporters.
“At the moment he cannot wait to return home.
“Joaquin loves the Fiorentina fans, but he knows how much the Betis supporters are awaiting him.
“He respects the Viola fans, he would like to explain the situation, but he will keep silent for now.”
Joaquin still has one year of his contract left with Fiorentina and la Viola do not want to let go of the player, because of his crucial role in the squad and the difficulty of finding a replacement in the last days of the transfer window could mean Fiorentina deny Joaquin his dream move.
