denayerFiorentina are interested in acquiring Manchester City defender Jason Denayer on loan.

The Viola have been reasonably quiet this summer in terms of transfers having only brought in Mario Suarez, Gilberto and Nikola Kalinic, but they have sold important figures such as Stefan Savic and Mario Gomez.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, the Gigliati could be about to replace the departed Savic with the Belgian, who impressed during the 2014-15 season on loan at Scottish champions Celtic.

However, the loan deal is being held up by the Citizens who are demanding a prohibitively large transfer fee should Paulo Sousa want to keep the Belgian U-21 international at the end of his loan spell and make the deal permanent.

Denayer has also been attracting interest from the likes of Marseille and Galatasaray.

The Belgian joined Manchester City’s academy from the JMG Academy and was promoted to the first team squad over the summer but is now ready to move away after the signing of Nicolas Otamendi pushed him further down the pecking order.
