After plenty of speculation surrounding his future, Davide Astori made his long-awaited arrival to finalise his move to Fiorentina on Sunday.
The centre-back had been originally linked with a move to Napoli after impressing in a season-long loan deal with Roma last term, and had firmly established himself with parent club Cagliari since his move back in 2008.
According to Fiorentina’s official team Periscope channel, Astori made his arrival to the club by train from Rome on Sunday and is ready to make his move to the Gigliati official.
“I am very happy to be here and to start a new adventure,” said the 28-year-old fresh upon arrival.
“We will talk with the coach and I hope to start working right away.”
Astori featured 24 times for Roma in Serie A last term, scoring just the one goal.
