Galatasaray have denied that a deal is in place for Felipe Melo to join Inter, although their coach has admitted that the player is looking for a new challenge.

The former Brazil international has strongly been linked with a move away from Istanbul after Melo left a message to the club’s supporters and although reports had stated that Inter were close to sealing a deal for the 32-year-old, Galatasaray have refuted the claims.

“I have said it from the outset, [Felipe] Melo is one of our players,” Gala coach Hamza Hamzaoglu told Milliyet.

“Nothing has been concluded and there is no agreement with Inter. We are very happy with Melo and what he has done for us over recent years.

“He has said that he wants a new challenge and Melo is a guy who deserves to happy, we will see what happens.”
