GenoaEmanuel Insua Udinese Boca are due to sign Argentine left-back Emanuel Insua from La Liga side Granada in the coming days.

Insua only arrived in Spain during the January transfer window from Argentina club side Boca Juniors, though he impressed enough over twelve appearances to catch the eye of Genoa.

Sky Sport Italia reported the news that, pending a medical to be completed on Tuesday, Insua will join the Rossoblu on loan with the eventual option to buy.

News of the 24-year-old’s imminent transfer comes a day after Genoa’s disappointing opening weekend trip to Palermo, where they lost 1-0 to the hosts in injury time.

Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini was forced to improvise on the left side of his defense, playing 22-year-old attacking midfielder Diego Laxalt in the wing-back position for lack of better options.

Insua would presumably fill that wing-back role in the upcoming tough test at home to Verona on Sunday, should the deal be completed in time.
