Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin has revealed that he’s focused on finally having a positive campaign with the Biscione after the Milan side has fallen short of success in recent seasons.

The 29-year-old admits that he expected to start winning immediately once he arrived at the Nerazzurri from Porto in January 2012 and is now hoping that Roberto Mancini’s men have learned from their mistakes during last term’s eighth place finish so they can have a triumphant 2015-16 campaign.

Guarin spoke to Inter Channel about his mission to help Inter find success during the new season and the frustration that comes with failure, while also commenting on the team’s need for improvement.

“Things went a bit wrong last season, Inter are not used to remaining in certain positions,” said the Colombia international.

“However, these are experiences that we use in order to make improvements. We need to remember these experiences for the good of the team.

“You have to take all of the good things we’ve learned and apply them. This season is very important because now all of the players are giving everything they have to do well.

“Hopefully it will be a good season. I’ve been here for four years and it hasn’t been easy.

“When I arrived, my thoughts were that we would start winning right away because this team has a history of winning.

“I’m 29-years-old now and I hope to start winning.”
