A number of Serie A clubs are vying for the signature of prodigious AC Milan midfielder Jose Mauri.
The 19-year-old only joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer this summer from relegated outfit Parma, but that has not prevented a string of Italian sides from reportedly approaching the player.
According to the Sky Sport Italia, Carpi, Atalanta and Chievo are eager to sign Mauri on-loan before the end of the transfer window, which closes at the end of August.
It is reported Atalanta appear the front-runners for the player’s signature with boss Edy Reja rumoured to have made contact with Milan officials.
However, the fact that Mauri recently signed a four-year contract with the Stadio Meazza outfit is proving to be a major hurdle for La Dea.
Mauri is yet to feature for the Rossoneri this season, but scored two goals in 33 league appearances for the Ducali during the 2014-15 campaign.
