Italian giants Juventus are close to signing Brazilian defender Guilherme Siqueira from Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
The Bianconeri are looking to bolster their depth in defence and the 29-year-old Colchoneros defender is expected to improve Juve’s strength in the left-back role.
According to Sky Sport Italia, both Atletico Madrid and Juventus have reached an agreement for the transfer and all that is missing is Siqueira’s signature.
He is expected to sign for Juve on Friday, a day before the Italian holiday of “Ferragosto”.
Siqueira has been a journeyman throughout his career, especially in previous spells on the Italian peninsula.
The Brazilian spent time at Inter as well as Lazio but he failed to play a single Serie A game at both clubs.
He then played 23 Serie A games for Udinese from 2006 until 2010, and he also spent 2008-09 on loan at Serie B club Ancona, playing 24 matches and scoring one goal.
