Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has said he is delighted to be back in China competing for the Supercoppa Italiana three years after he travelled with the squad for the show-piece game as an 18-year-old.
The young Italian didn’t feature in the 4-2 victory over Napoli in 2012 but having returned to the Bianconeri after a two-year spell with Empoli he will be hoping to see more action this time round as his side face Lazio on Saturday.
“It’s great to return to China,” said the 21-year-old in an interview with Juve’s official website.
“I went to Beijing [for the Supercoppa] before and I have good memories because going there was a dream come true at that time.
“I was a young guy from the Primavera so it was amazing to be there with Juventus and all the stars around me, playing the Supercoppa.
“I’m delighted to be here again three years on.”
