Mario Mandzukic Atletico MadridJuventus striker Mario Mandzukic could miss the Bianconeri’s opening Serie A game of the season with a knee injury.

The Croatian has been brought to Turin to help replace the goals lost through the departure of Carlos Tevez who has returned to Argentina with Boca Juniors.

According to Tuttosport, Mandzukic will have his knee assessed to determine the seriousness of it and whether he can play against Udinese on Sunday.

If the 29 year-old is unable to feature this weekend against the Zebrette, it’s thought coach Massimiliano Allegri will play Paulo Dybala alongside Spanish forward Fernando Llorente.

Mandzukic moved to Bianconeri from La Liga side Atletico Madrid, despite only joining the Rojiblancos last summer.

The former Bayern Munich man scored 12 goals in 28 La Liga appearances for Atleti last season.
