Juventus are ready to move for free agent Heiko Westermann to provide cover at centre-back as the club face a mounting injury crisis.

The Bianconeri are currently monitoring the recoveries of Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini who are both set to miss the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana clash against Lazio next weekend.

Available on a free transfer following his release from Hamburger SV, Westermann is now a target for the Bianconeri, according to Tuttosport, as the 31-year-old could provide an economic solution to add depth at the back.

Chiellini has been ruled out for three weeks while Barzagli is recovering from a thigh strain, leaving the club with just two fit centre halves.

Westermann spent five years at Hamburg, making in excess of 150 appearances for the club and has played 27 times for Germany, scoring four goals.
