Juventus are set to wait ten days before deciding to dip into the transfer market to bolster their defence as they wait on the recoveries of Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini from their injuries.

The Bianconeri are facing something of an injury crisis at the back as Chiellini has been ruled out of action for three weeks after picking up a thigh strain in their friendly win against Lechia Gdansk, and Barzagli is absent with a torn groin muscle with both players set to miss the Supercoppa Italiana against Lazio.

Massimilliano Allegri is prepared to hold off on moving for another central defender for another ten days or so, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

They also remain keen on moving for Porto full-back Alex Sandro and if no deal can be reached, they will move for Atletico Madrid’s Guilherme Siqueira.

The injury hit Bianconeri squad will travel to Shanghai for the Supercoppa clash with only two recognised centre-backs, Leonardo Bonucci and Daniele Rugani, while Martin Caceres can provide cover.
