Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado can’t wait to get started back in Serie A, after six months with English Premier League champions Chelsea.

The 27-year-old made only four starts during his time at Stamford Bridge, but has returned to Italy determined to prove his worth once again with the reigning champions.

“I am very happy [with the move]. I thank God for this opportunity, also my agent and Juventus,” said Cuadrado at a press conference ahead of their titanic clash with Roma this weekend, as reported by Calciomercato.it.

“It will be a challenge for me.

“I have been training normally, so if there is an opportunity to take the field on Sunday it will be a pleasure.

“It is not a step back [returning to Italy], it was the best choice I could have made at this stage of my career.

“I hope to reach my peak and give everything for this shirt.”

Reflecting on his ill-fated spell in England, the Colombian international appeared flummoxed as to why it failed to work out as he had hoped.

“I don’t know what went wrong at Chelsea.”

“I always trained well, and I was always ready to play.

“There was a lot of competition, and when I arrived the team was already settled.

“I had a chance, but not so many minutes.”

Looking ahead to the Old Lady’s intriguing trip to the Stadio Olimpico to face Roma on Sunday, Cuadrado feels that a difficult task awaits his new team-mates.

“It will be a difficult match against a great team.”

“We have to go there with belief, because we know we are a big club, and we have everything we need to play our game and get started in the race for the Scudetto.”
