Lazio look set to finalise a deal to take Alessandro Matri to the capital, it is being reported that Bosnian Senad Lulic could be heading to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in a part-exchange deal that would see Riccardo Montolivo heading in the opposite direction.

The 29-year-old has been an almost permanent fixture in the Biancocelesti team since arriving from Young Boys in 2011, making some 117 appearances for the club in Serie A and scoring 15 times, while the Italian does not look part of Rossoneri coach Sinisa Mihajlovic’s plans.

Although the transfer of striker Matri had initiated their meeting, Sky Sport Italia believe that president Claudio Lotito has indicated to Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani that he is willing to consider allowing the Bosnian to leave in exchange for Montolivo.

Last season Lulic played 25 times and scored three times as Lazio reached the Champions League qualification place, but was unable to help the team avoid defeat in the play-off against Bayer Leverkusen which they lost 3-1 on aggregate.

In contrast, Montolivo has struggled to retain his place in the first-team after returning from the broken leg sustained on international duty against Ireland in May 2014 and has dropped down the pecking order at the San Siro.
