Alessandro Matri JuventusAlessandro Matri has joined Lazio on loan from AC Milan.

The Italian forward has been linked with moves to Marseille, West Ham United, and the Aquile since returning to the Rossoneri, having spent last season on loan at Genoa and Juventus.

Confirmed by an official Lazio club statement, the Biancocelesti have taken Matri on loan, possibly encouraged to do so after striker Filip Djordjevic and Miroslav Klose picked up injuries in the early games of the 2015-16 season.

Keita Balde Diao led the line in Lazio’s 4-0 hammering at the hands of Chievo on Sunday night, and with the Aquile also knocked out of the Champions League play-offs by Bayer Leverkusen, it is no surprise that coach Stefano Pioli has reacted by bringing in the experienced forward.

31-year-old Matri signed for Milan in 2013 for €11 million but after six months he was farmed out on loan to Fiorentina, with this spell at the Stadio Olimpico his fifth temporary move away from the Diavolo.
