Lazio are reportedly interested in the services of Liverpool’s controversial forward Mario Balotelli.

The Biancocelesti want to add to an attacking line whose most prominent members currently are 37-year-old Miroslav Klose and Filip Djordjevic, who lacks European football experience.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Biancocelesti will approach the Merseyside club with a €2 million loan offer for Balotelli, but only if the club win their qualification play off for the groups stages of the Champions League.

It is also reported the Biancocelesti would have the option of making the move permanent for €18 million at the end of the season.

Balotelli failed to rekindle his career with Liverpool, making only 22 appearances in all competitions and scoring only two goals after his €20 million move from AC Milan last summer.

Meanwhile, Lazio have not played alongside the best of Europe since the 2007/08 season and their return depends on winning a two-legged tie before reaching the group stages.
