Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel does not want to let down Il Doria president Massimo Ferrero this season.
Ferrero was quoted as saying that the 24-year-old Colombian international will have a breakthrough season in 2015-16 otherwise he would hit the striker.
“He tells me every time that he sees me,” Muriel told Il Secolo XIX.
“I see him like a father, who gives me advice as a father would.
“I don’t want to disappoint him also because he will otherwise hit me for real!”
Former Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic compared Muriel to Brazilian legend Ronaldo and the Colombian managed to meet the former Inter and Real Madrid star in person while playing at the Copa America.
“He is a special coach. He said that also to me about Ronaldo. In Colombia they also compared me to Ronaldo, who by the way was an idol of me,” Muriel said.
“In June I met him for real at the Copa America. We had a photo together. Anyone who saw it has said to me that we look like father and son.”
