Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri is happy with his team’s preparations for the new season.
The Partenopei thrashed Serie B side Latina 5-0 in a pre-season friendly and Sarri was happy with what he saw in that match and believes it was a good win ahead of the 2015-16 Serie A season.
“It was a good test for us and it was a good performance ahead of the start of the new season,” the 56-year-old told Napoli’s official website.
He showed no signs of complacency, however, and admitted improvements can still be made to the squad.
“There were signs of growth although we still lack a bit of brilliance,” he said.
Omar El Kaddouri grabbed two goals for Napoli in the match while the other three came from Marek Hamsik, Manolo Gabbiadini and Jorginho.
They kick-off their season on August 23 away to Sassuolo.
