Napoli’s Gokhan Inler has declined a move to Leicester City and is keen on staying in Italy.
The English Premier League side are thought to have prepared a bid of €4.5 million to lure the Swiss international to England, with the Midlands side looking towards Inler as a possible replacement for Esteban Cambiasso, who recently departed the club at the end of last season.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli and Leicester had reached an agreement worth €4 million for the midfielder, however it failed to go through as Inler had rejected it.
It is also known that he was heavily linked to Watford and Turkish champions Galatasaray, and yet those links failed to materialise into anything serious as he appears determined on regaining his place in Napoli’s first team.
Inler made 19 appearances for the Naples side in the 2014-2015 campaign.
