The Stadio San Paolo side are looking to add some steel to their midfield in an attempt to complete Maurizio’s Sarri’s squad before the transfer window slams shut.

According to Sky Sport Italia, sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli feels Napoli need another defensive minded midfielder to compete will Allan and David Lopez following the departure of Gokhan Inler.

Moreover, Jonathan de Guzman is expected to leave for the Premier League soon with Sunderland and Bournemouth reportedly interested, leaving the Partenopei even shorter in midfield.

Kucka has been with the Grifone since 2011 following his move from Czech side Sparta Prague.

The 28-year-old is also a Slovakian international with 41 caps to his name.
