nikola maksimovic torinoNapoli have raised their offer for Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic.

The Partenopei are well known to be in the transfer market for a defender, but have so far failed in their pursuit of Torino’s Serbian rock, although an agreement is edging closer after the buying club raised their offer.

Sky Sport Italia report that Napoli’s offer now stands at €15 million plus €2 million performance-related bonuses.

Torino’s valuation remains at €20 million, and it remains to be seen whether a compromise can be made.

Napoli have already agreed personal terms with the player, and are just waiting for the green light of the transfer fee to be settled.

Maksimovic has made 50 Torino appearances since joining in 2013, and at home in Serbia has been compared to current Inter defender Nemanja Vidic.
