thomas hertaux udineseNapoli have reportedly lost interest in pursuing Udinese‘s Thomas Heurtaux, as their new central defender.

The Frenchman has already received attention from bigger clubs in Italy having been contacted by Roma and Inter this summer, however in both cases all transfer talk fizzled out.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Udinese value the player at €8 million, which the Partenopei are not prepared to pay, stalling any further pursuit of the Frenchman.

As a consequence, Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has decided to turn his attention towards Genoa defender Sebastian De Maio, as a solution to increase the depth of Napoli’s back four.

The 28-year-old is a regular starter for the Rossublu and is unlikely to be easily sold by the Ligurian side, however he will become the centre of attention at Napoli, as the search for a defender remains in motion.
