Mario Suarez has lauded Fiorentina’s playing style after moving to the club.

The Spanish international moved to Italy from Atletico Madrid, in the deal which took Stefan Savic to Spain, and Suarez believes Fiorentina will do well in the season ahead.

“Fiorentina play in a very attractive style,” Suarez told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They have played some fantastic football in recent years.

“The new coach [Paulo] Sousa wants us to press the opposition with great intensity and recover the ball high up the pitch.

“I like the mentality of the team and of the coach.

“We want to become a formidable team that does not lose very often.

“I think it will be a great season for Fiorentina.”

Suarez went on to talk about his decision to move to Fiorentina and rejecting Inter.

“Before moving here I talked to Borja Valero, who I played with at Mallorca, he spoke very well of Fiorentina.”

“I could have joined Inter in the past but now all I am focused on is Fiorentina.

“I am at my best in front of the defence with someone creative beside me.”
