The Rosanero had Aljaz Struna sent off in the 70th minute but still managed to win after Luca Rigoni’s 8th minute goal, and Iachini was pleased with how his team held onto the win.
“Beyond the red card for Struna I have to congratulate the team,” Iachini told reporters after the match.
“We had a great first half, we missed some decisive passes against a very good team but we showed so much character.
“In the end we suffered, but we managed to hold on well.”
Palermo’s next Serie A game sees them host Serie A newcomers Carpi.
