Palermo are distant from the signing of Arsenal forward Joel Campbell, with a fee far from being agreed.

The Rosanero had identified the Costa Rican as an ideal replacement for Paulo Dybala, who left the club earlier this summer, but have found negotiations with the selling club a firm obstacle.

Tuttosport claim that Palermo have placed a latest bid of €6 million for the striker, an attempt that has been seen as unacceptable by the London side.

Arsenal are believed to be holding out for around €10 million for the player they have invested a great deal of time in, although may settle for €9 million.

Due to work permit issues, Campbell had to wait three years before making his debut for Arsenal, but despite his eligibility he was still sent out on loan for the 2014-15 campaign.
