Lazio coach Stefano Pioli has admitted that his squad will only be playing to win in the second leg of their Champions League play-off against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Biancocelesti carry a slender one-goal lead into the return game in Germany on Wednesday night after winning 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico and Pioli wants his side to dictate the game and fight to get through to the group stage.
“We will play our game,” Pioli told reporters at the pre-match press conference.
“We will look to recover possession as quickly as possible and keep the opposition a good distance from our goal.
“Bayer have a number of great players, we will have to take advantage of our qualities.
“We will play to win, our opponents will come out strongly and we will have to start quickly too.
“The result from the first leg only gives a slight advantage, we will have to fight for 95 minutes as we know that Bayer almost always score at home.”
