Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has revealed that the Viola were never interested in Marco Andreolli, despite reports linking the defender with a move away from Inter.

The 29-year-old had looked set to leave Roberto Mancini’s side this summer, having already rejected Bologna.

Speaking to a journalist at the ATA Hotel in Milan, Prade denied any link with Andreolli, despite Sky Sport Italia claiming the defender wished to move to the Florence-based club.

”There is no interest in Marco Andreolli from Fiorentina,” said Prade bluntly.

Andreolli rejected the chance to move to the newly promoted Rossoblu and Atalanta in August, and it appears as though Fiorentina were never targeting the defender, so it is expected Andreolli will stay put.

The centre-back has made just 10 appearances for his current club, scoring once, since moving from Chievo in 2013.
