The Giallorossi are preparing to reinforce their attack after struggling to match the might of Scudetto champions Juventus last season and the club is eager to lure Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko to the Stadio Olimpico, despite the recent link to Balotelli.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola has suggested the deal to Roma as his client falls further out of favour with the Reds.

However, Roma’s transfer guru Sabatini is unconvinced that the player would find his form under current coach Rudi Garcia and instead wants to concentrate all his efforts on signing the Bosnian Dzeko

The 24-year-old Balotelli made 16 appearances for Brendan Rogers since joining from AC Milan last summer, scoring just one goal in a lacklustre debut season.
