Eder - Sampdoria v SassuoloSampdoria’s top scorer Eder may be forced to leave the club if the Blucerchiati go through with a deal to sign Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli.

The Italian international scored nine times in la Samp’s run to seventh during the 2014-15 Serie A campaign, but Bologna are in line to snap up the forward if owner Massimo Ferrero’s desire to sign the controversial striker from Anfield is genuine.

According to SampNews24.com, Bologna are ready with an €8 million bid for Eder, who could find himself discarded by the Blucerchiati as Ferrero seeks to reunite new signing Antonio Cassano with his Euro 2012 Azzurri strike-partner Balotelli.

If the former AC Milan striker comes to Liguria, it will be on a loan deal with the Reds paying 80 per cent of the player’s €3m yearly salary, however, the forward has a clause in his contract doubling his salary if he plays in over 50 per cent of games which would have to be picked up by Sampdoria if the clause is enacted in Serie A.

Contracted to 2018, Balotelli is being frozen out of the Liverpool squad, with coach Brendan Rodgers refusing to discuss the situation.
