Sampdoria v GenoaSampdoria defender Vasco Regini rates his former coach Maurizio Sarri highly ahead of meeting him again this weekend.

The Blucerchiati travel to the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday to face Napoli in the second gameweek, and will hope to keep their 100 per cent record intact following a 5-2 thrashing of Carpi in their opening fixture.

“The best Sampdoria side will play at the San Paolo,” Regini told Samp TV.

The 24-year-old then talked about facing Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri, who he played under during a loan spell at Sarri’s former side Empoli.

“I consider Sarri to be a great coach and Napoli to be a great team, but we’re going to play our game,” Regini added.

“It was a pleasure to play under him.”

Napoli go into the match hoping for their first win of the season after losing 2-1 away at Sassuolo in their first fixture.

Sampdoria currently top the Serie A table after the first round of games.
