Sampdoria have already lined up a new coach after their 4-0 Europa League humiliation against Vojvodina.

Current coach Walter Zenga’s future is in turmoil after only one competitive game in charge, and in the case that they dismiss the Italian, Sampdoria have a plan in place.

Tuttosport report that the Blucerchiati see Luigi Delneri as the man to replicate past boss Sinisa Mihajlovic’s success at the club.

Delneri has been out of work since leaving Genoa in 2013, but has vast experience to his name, even coaching Sampdoria at one point.

The 64-year-old also turned out for the Doria during his playing days, making 33 appearances in the 1980-81 campaign.

During his spell in charge of Sampdoria, Delneri led the club to a fourth placed Serie A finish, which then meant an entry to the qualifying stages of the Champions League.
