Sampdoria president claims club would be mental to sell striker to Inter

The Italian international, of Brazilian origin has started the season in fine form scoring three goals in two games and has attracted the interest of the Nerazzurri.

“He is a player of Sampdoria. If I sold him on the last day you should take me to the mental hospital,” Ferrero told reporters.

The Italian film producer was also asked about the future of midfielder Roberto Soriano who has also been linked with a move away from Il Doria.

“Soriano? He is wanted by all the big teams AC Milan, Napoli and Juventus.”

Sampdoria have made a flying start to the league, winning their first game 5-2 against Carpi and then getting a 2-2 draw away at Napoli.
