Despite being seemingly surplus to requirements at Inter, Danilo D’Ambrosio looks unlikely to head to the Bundesliga with reports coming out of Germany that Schalke have pulled out of the race to sign the full-back.

The former Nerazzurri coach Walter Mazzarri took the 26-year-old to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza from Torino in January 2014, however, he does not appear to feature in the plans of current coach Roberto Mancini.

With his former club Torino also ruling out a transfer, it is possible that English side West Ham United could reignite their interest in the Italian, however, Sky Sports Deutschland have made it clear that the side from Gelsenkirchen will not be proceeding with a move for the Italian.

D’Ambrosio made 23 Serie A appearances for Inter during the 2014-15 season as they failed to secure European competition, finishing the campaign in eighth place.
