Roma, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Palermo are all competing to sign highly-rated midfielder Eugenio Lorefice.

The 16-year-old is a free agent after leaving Lega Pro side Reggina and the Serie A sides are interested in taking on the youngster.

According to VoceGialloRossa.it, Roma have entered the race as the Lupi look to add the midfielder to their Primavera team and join fellow promising youngsters such as Jacopo Ferri and Arturo Calabresi.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina would like to add the midfielder to the signings of Gilberto and Mario Suarez that new coach Paulo Sousa has added during the summer window.

Atalanta, however, have been relatively quiet and most news surrounds their proposed sale of Yohan Benalouane to Leicester City and a potential swoop from Sampdoria for German Denis.

The other club linked with Lorefice, Palermo, hope to add the youngster to their Primavera squad, which last won the Campionato Nazionale Primavera competition in 2008/09.
