HernandezTorino are in negotiations with Hull City to sign former Palermo striker Abel Hernandez.

The Tigers have been desperately trying to shift the Uruguayan off their wage bill to help deal with the financial strain of relegation from the Premier League.

According to Tuttosport, Il Toro are currently offering to take the 24-year-old on loan for a season with an obligation to buy the player next summer for €8 million.

Alternatively, the Granata would be willing to buy Hernandez immediately for a lower fee.

The Uruguayan international only joined Hull last at the start of the 2014-15 Premier League as the club’s record signing but found consistent first team football hard to come by, making 25 appearances in total but with 10 of them coming from the bench.

His goalscoring record in England was also not particularly impressive as he notched up only four goals during the course of the season.

Latest news from Hull. Steve Bruce wants to keep Hernandez and there have been no bids for him apart from loan deals which the club do not want.

Complete non story. Hull manager has gone on record to say that the player will not be allowed to leave on loan!
