NAPOLI CALCIONELLA FOTO: VALDIFIORIFOTO MOSCANapoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori believes his side need to play with greater intensity following their 2-1 defeat away to Sassuolo on the opening day of the 2015-16 Serie A season.

The 29-year-old suffered a disappointing debut after joining the club from Empoli in the summer and feels the Partenopei need to play better as a team if they are to succeed this season.

“Football in August, especially on the first day of the season, views teams still in preparation [for the season ahead],” said Valdifiori in an interview with Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Against Sassuolo we played well for 20 minutes then we lost some momentum.

“The second goal [for Sassuolo] came at a time when it seemed that Napoli had the game under control.

“In football you must accept defeat and work even harder.

“We must increase the amount of time with which we play with high intensity, we have to work on this.”
