Italian goalkeeping legend Dino Zoff thinks Lazio can do well in the Champions League.

The 1982 World Cup winner gave his thoughts on the Biancocelesti’s chances as they face German side Bayer Leverkusen in their Champions League play-off on Wednesday night, holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg.

“Lazio have a good chance against Leverkusen,” the 73-year-old Zoff told Elleradio.

“The Germans will try to assert their power but the Biancocelesti have the means to hurt them.”

He then talked about the season ahead for both Lazio and the rest of the sides in Serie A, saying that it will be less predictable than previous campaigns in terms of who’s going to challenge for the title.

“I have the impression that it will be more competitive than others, in which Juventus were the absolute rulers,” said Zoff.

“There are several teams who can compete this year, AC Milan, Lazio and Roma all have a chance to take the throne off Juventus.”
