Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri hailed the performance of his team following the 2-0 victory over Sevilla at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on Wednesday evening.

Alvaro Morata opened the scoring four minutes before half-time and substitute Simone Zaza sealed the victory in the closing stages with a neat finish past Sergio Rico in the visitors goal.

“The boys played a good game, they played well technically,” Allegri told reporters following the victory.

“The team has to grow, it must understand the time of the match. After the first 30 minutes of great intensity we had to manage it better, we were a bit stretched in midfield.

“In the second half, however, the team was much better and accelerated at the right time. It is a first step for a team that has to know and understand how to play at a high level.”
