Luigi Giorgi - AtalantaAtalanta duo Luigi Giorgi and Michele Canini look set to leave the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

30-year-old defender Canini had been excluded from Edy Reja’s Serie A squad, which was revealed on Thursday, and it is believed that this exclusion has prompted his desire to leave the Bergamo club.

As reported by TuttoAtalanta.it, Serie B side Ascoli are reportedly interested in signing the two players.

Giorgi came on as a second half substitute as La Dea claimed their first win of the season on Sunday, running out as comfortable 2-0 winners against Serie A newcomers Frosinone, thanks to goals from Guglielmo Stendardo and Alejandro Gomez.

Canini came through the youth ranks at the Orobici before leaving the club in 2004. However, he rejoined the Nerazzurri in 2013 but has since been loaned out on a couple of occasions to Chievo and FC Tokyo.
