Siracusa midfielder Davide Baiocco has claimed that Fiorentina the potential to threaten the top teams in Serie A this season.
Fiorentina have claimed all six points possible in their two matches of this season after having a very impressive pre-season in which the Florentine club beat English champions Chelsea as well as European champions Barcelona.
The 40-year-old revealed he has a soft spot for La Viola, and is of the opinion that a productive summer will lead to a an enjoyable season of football.
“This year, there have finally been clubs that have reinforced themselves well,” he said.
“Reinforcing at the end is counter-productive, however, this season teams have reinforced themselves well in order to fight until the end.
“Who am I referring to? Firstly, Roma but I am referring to a possible surprise as well. I really like Fiorentina.
“Surely, the arrival of new world-class players will produce more competition which, on the whole, is good for our football.
