Mario Balotelli AC MilanAC Milan Mario Balotelli praised his team-mates for fighting to secure a 3-2 win away at Udinese.

The 25-year-old was also happy with his performance after opening the scoring in the fifth minute from a free-kick.

“These are three very important points for us, we were winning 3-0 but we were careless after the break,” said Balotelli to Premium Sport.

“The game shouldn’t have finished 3-2 but my team is made up of fighters.

“We conceded two stupid goals but fought right up until the very end.”

The Italian striker was happy with his performance after scoring his first goal of the season and promised to defy the critics.

“I worked for the team, like always,” added Balotelli.

“It was a difficult game for me, I already knew that they would try to provoke me.

“I’m not bothered if teams try to do that because they’ll either catch my legs or get a yellow card, they won’t win the ball.

“My booking ruined the game a bit for me but I am happy with my performance, slowly I am getting rid of all that is bothering me.

“During the last year between Italy and England many people have spoken badly about me.”
