Marcello Lippi ItalyItaly‘s European Championship Qualifying rivals Croatia are considering Marcello Lippi and Roberto Donadoni as their potential new coach.

The Croatians decided to part company with previous incumbent Niko Kovac, after the Azzurri leapfrogged them at the top of Group H with two narrow victories over Malta and Bulgaria during the recent international break.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Croatian Football Federation are looking to appoint a new boss by September 21, with former Juventus supremo Lippi and ex-Parma coach Donadoni among a four-man shortlist.

Others under review include their current Under-21 leader Nenad Gracan, and Ante Cacic of Lokomotiva Zagreb.

World Cup winner Lippi’s last coaching appointment was in 2014 with Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou Evergrande, while Donadoni left Parma in May when the Crociati were firstly relegated from Serie A, then forced to start all over again from the bottom rung of Italian football, after going out of business at the end of last season.
