Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has thanked his team-mates and the club’s staff for helping him to quickly settle into life in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old joined the Red Devils from Torino in July and after good performances in their opening fixtures is already proving popular with supporters of the Old Trafford club.
“It was important that, as a foreign player, I felt comfortable right away at United,” said Darmian in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
“I thank my team-mates and the staff that made me feel part of the group.
“I am a player who has worked hard to get this far and I still do.
“I see this step [in my career] as a beginning and not an end point.”
Darmian has received a lot of praise for his performances in United’s opening fixtures, following his move from Serie A side Torino in the summer.
